The social Liberal Party received its subjected mandatory budget from the government today. The money the (SLP) gets is MRF. 147,030.81 when given on the member basis, were handed over to the party by the Commissioner of Elections KD Ahmed Maniku, but when the money was shared between the parties and as in described in the clause 23 of the political party regulation the Social Liberal Party gets a total of 746,451.86.

The total amount of money in cash to run the political parties, subjected in the government budget is MRF.11, 988,421.21. The amount of money from this year’s budget to be paid the parties is 40% of the total amount which will be divided between the 8 registered political parties. The money is given to the parties according to its members. The number of members in the 8 parties adds up to 79,107. The party regulation annexed in the 2005 clause 22 describes a budget to be given from the government to the parties and clause 23 describes how to pay the amount of money to the parties.
